And Ms. Shearer's female characters are so real. They have insecurities, they second-guess their decisions, and they bravely move forward. The Red Shoes-Alison's Story is yet another sizzling story from this author. This short story starts off when Alision's husband dies. After a chance meeting with a friend of her husbands, Alison agrees after a wine soaked evening, to accompany his to a Swingers event. Regretting her decision the morning after, Alison still goes with him to save embarrassment. What happens at the event is hot stuff. An excellent followup to the Naughty Nights House Parties - The Beginning by the same author.
This is a wonderful, well written, short, erotic story. Allison's husband had died about 18 months ago. Her daughters were both away at college. Allison had known her husband since they were 11 years old and had never had sex with anyone but him. She also had never had an orgasm other than the ones she had given herself. One day while she was out shopping she ran in to an old friend of her husband's, Dominic. They hadn't seen each other since her husband's funeral. He invited her for coffee and three hours later she was driving home. He took her to dinner the next week and they made plans to go to a "swingers" party. This is where I will stop as I don't want to ruin the story for you. It is hot! I will be looking for more from this author.
Sophie's short story gets straight to the point; Alison is on the way to a swingers party to get laid. The very short story wasted no time getting her into action, sadly, it lacked a climax and she is left wanting. Luckily, her escort saves the day with an erection of fine proportions.Apart from the use of the passive voice a few times too often, this little gem hits the right spots. If there were five fewer 'was' s in the story it would have had 5 stars!
